I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Chancelvie, and I’m 28 years old. I live in Sweden, but my background is Slovakian and Congolese. I work as a counsellor, and I genuinely love helping people.

My interests include books, music, and drawing. I’ve been thinking about writing for a long time, but I never really took the step to actually do it. Then I found this platform and thought, perfect.

On this page, I’ll be writing about all kinds of things from books and hobbies to most importantly life and all the little things we can relate to.

I also really enjoy reading other people’s writing on here. I love getting different perspectives on things and discovering talented people, whether they have 1 or 100k followers.

• I’ve been dancing for over 10 years and have competed in dance.

• I was born in Belgium.

• I’m a homebody.

• I listen to R&B, jazz, hiphop, and pop.

• My dream trip is to Tokyo.

What is it like to be in your twenties? Well, I’m going to tell you.

It’s confusing, fun, exciting, and scary.

A lot of people in their twenties are trying to figure themselves out. Their friendships, career, love life, hobbies, and so much more. I could probably keep listing things forever.

But one thing that really stands out is that it feels like we have all these different deadlines in our twenties. Deadlines for where we’re supposed to be in life and what we’re supposed to have.

And who decides these deadlines? Social media.

It can create so much pressure, anxiety, and sometimes even make us feel like something is wrong with us. Since we’re still trying to figure out who we are, we can become more influenced by the people and lifestyles we see around us.

And then we start asking ourselves:

• Am I doing enough?

• Am I falling behind in life?

• Have I figured out what I want to do with my life and who I want to become?

The funny thing is that even though it might look like everyone else has their life figured out on social media, they could be dealing with completely different problems behind the scenes, problems that you might not have.

Your twenties might not be about having everything figured out.

Maybe they’re about getting to know yourself.

Instead of constantly chasing different goals and trying to reach the next milestone, maybe we should also learn to enjoy life and the process.

We’re going to make mistakes. We’re going to change our minds. We’re going to meet new people and lose people. We’re going to fall in love and get our hearts broken.

That’s all part of life.

And there’s no deadline for any of it.

You only get to live once, so make the most of it and do it at your own pace.

Reading is an individual experience, yet it is also something we share.

Everyone has different tastes when it comes to books, such as thrillers, fantasy, romance, or non-fiction. But we have one thing in common, and that is that we lose ourselves in books. We immerse ourselves in another world and get to be different characters from ourselves for a while.

Reading is still relatively new to me, as I started reading last year. Unexpectedly, it has become a big part of my life.

It is nice to be able to take a break from your own life, put everything aside, and enter another world. To see how the characters and the world are built. To be able to use your imagination. To see their problems, their hopes, and the good things that happen to them. We can relate to them.

Sometimes, you do not realize how much you needed it, and that makes it difficult to put a book down.

That is probably what I like about books. Even though you can escape from your own life, they also give us an overview of our own lives, and perhaps you get a different perspective.

A book can make you feel understood. It can make you think about things you have never thought about before. It can inspire you, make you question things, or simply give you comfort.

Is reading really that serious?

I think it is.
